The Short History of Oromia Police Commission’s Establishment

Oromia regional state borders all Ethiopian regional states exceptTigrayregional state. Its land width is 363,136 Km^2, and it is a land of prosperity and comfortable for life. The region is structured by 20 zones, 16 town administration, 315 (349) districts, 7,066 localities and more than 35 million people live in it. Saying this much about our region let’s come back to the main objective of this

The Establishment of Oromia Police College

Our country’s nations, nationalities and peoples made a sour struggle and paid a proud sacrifice to over throw the dictatorial Dergue regime that was oppressing them on 20^th May 1983 E.C brought it to the end and establish a country where democracy, unity, equality are developed and started its regular functioning by having Federal and Regional government structure. Depending on the establishment of federal government and regional states, all states were able to establish defense force of the country and region's police as the transitional government of 8/1984 declaration. Likewise, Oromia regional state made the establishment of Oromia police in new form by under taking vote in all districts of Oromia. www.oromiapolicecollege.gov.et
