The Oromia police commission is established organization by declaration in October 1993 and has been causing the rule of law to be sovereign in the region.

Oromia police started working by 5,152 forces, 7 cars and 7 radios of communication. Because of the regions’ width and community abundances the police forces and the logistics services were not enough to fulfill the goal of ensuring peace and security of the region. For this reason Oromia police starts gradually to increase police members and officers in numbers and competency as well as important modernized equipments in order to prevent complicated crimes in order to ensure the sovereignty of the rule of law in sustainable way.

Likewise, Oromia police had started giving training of few days up to few months under tree shadow for the first time in 1993 at Jima and Adama towns in order to increase new police members. At this time Oromia police has one regular and vocational training center and one Police College. It has been giving training for new recruits from 1^stto 24^th round at Senkelle, Vocational training center and Lega Dadhi. And also, it has been strengthening itself from time to time by recruiting police members from community those have diploma and above and deploying them in community policing and officers. The college is giving training for police officers for the second round now.

Oromia police believes that increasing the number of police members only is not enough to bring what is expected from police members. So, in order to produce police members those have enough capacity and competency, and can serve in reality up to sacrifice their life, Oromia police causes different short training to be given at region and federal level. So, different police members were able to be awarded from certificate to second degree by being sent to government and non government universities of abroad and in the country. By doing this Oromia police have been succeeded and was able to produce police members those have modernized knowledge and profession, and get belongingness from their peopleso that they cancooperate in sustaining peace and security. In the case of using modern equipments for police service, it is possible to say that there is better improvement in using new and modernized logistics than before by buying or getting aid as much as the government can afford even though it cannot be said that necessary materials are fulfilled for this service.

For example, it is possible to mention different forensic laboratory equipments that were bought for 9, 412, 532, and the issues that were being investigated by federal police only are being investigated by the region itself. This equipment is used to study document investigation, ignited body and weapons. It was taking several months before using this material but it takes only two up to three days since this material is being used.

Where to where of the Oromia Police Commission’s Logistics

The logistics service has a great role in ensuring reliable and sustainable peace to keep the sovereignty of the law and accelerating the development of a country.  The Oromia police commission has been reformed in October 1993 and started to give service from the region to district and station by expanding its structure having 5,152 man power, 7 old cars, and 7 communication radio.

The problem was not easy in order to prevent different committed crimes to ensure sustainable peace and security of the region because police force and logistics service were not enough as the width and abundance of the population of the region.

For this reason the commission has been doing in order to reach the goal of its establishment and strengthening the members’ and management force in quantity and professional competence. Thus, the problem of logistics service has been getting solution especially from the fiscal year of 2014 to 2016 by buying thousands of modern cars for billions birr support of community,prosperous people and government budget.

Thus, different modern car which are used for scattering rebellion gangs were bought and are available on giving utility. The trial to fulfill vehicles from commission to woredas /districts is encouraging; Oromia regional state had bought and given different modern and appropriate vehicles for the commission by emphasizing the demandsof logistics service. Besides creating awareness, in order to reduce the traffic accidents strengthening of traffic safety is important by using modern materials. For this reason, modern equipments like radar which is used to control speed and alcohol tester that is used to control drunken drivers are being used in different zones and cities where traffic accidents occur frequently. And also there is a plan to scaling up these materials to other places.

In other case, because information has very important place in police service, they have been able to use modern communication radio by leaving backwards communication radio. In order to fulfill its targeted people hood objective and profitable, Oromia police has been working in connecting the process of its work step by step to timely needed situation and also succeeded in different directions.

Because, Oromia police formerly understands that there is no sustainable and succeeded development, democracy and country’s development without community participation, it is succeeded by grouping people in 1 in 5 temwork, peace keeping army, from localities to zones in community policing and giving education on how to prevent crime and play role in traffic safety specially, elders and religious fathers to make them to play role in teaching people and make themselves to hate crime and sustain their area in peace and security. It is impossible to pass over without mentioning the role of grouping youths those were participating in committing crime by identifying the starting point of crime and targeted to destroy it from its beginning by making youths to take part in preventing crime being with community and participating in development is one way to expand the participation of community. Because of this profit the understanding of people have for traffic accident and crime expanded and the relationship of police and population has been increased and the community is participating in exposing criminals without any fear indicates that the interesting of people working with police is increasing from time to time. In addition to preventing crime and traffic accident people are helping poor people and building police station and are available on presenting necessary materials and these are some gained results.

On the other hand it is courageous that Oromia police has been doing to implement different reforms like civil service, business process reengineering (BPR), basic score card (BSC), peace army and also struggling to demolish partiality, doing partial for partnership and relatives, seeking rent, and destroying backward practice indor to establish good governance, giving service that has quality, transparency, activeness for the customers. This made the relationship between police and community to be coming strong from time to time. It has been working to make the customer to be happy by finishing his/her affair on time.

On the case of investigating, it has been made that the flagrant criminals to get legal penalty quickly by RTD and it was able to make so that the criminals prevent themselves from committing crime. By making the police investigator and public prosecutor to do together it has been made that the customer not to ply for his/her concern. It has been being done in order to work strongly with community and peace and security bodies to ensure security of the region and sovereignty of rule of law. Oromia police has been doing Profitable works and played great role on the case of expanding good experience and creating good understanding of done good exemplary works and identified for knowledge, warning, and experience especially, by press media like magazine, brochure, and pamphlet and also transmitting by Oromia police TV and radio programs, and on the other hand celebrating holydays with community and passing the current government’s message and the work done in expanding good experiences from a zone to another zone by occurring at community discussions by strengthening community participation in creating community who hate and prevent crime by lining up with police.

• Tasks to be performed should not be the amount of transmission, news and programs but evaluating in accordance with the attainable goal.
• Performed tasks should be based on the 2006 E.C. communication work principle ratified by the government.
• working hard so that the accessibility and coverage of the program could be universal
