Movements Regarding Tackling Terrorist

In the past five years some works had been implemented in order to keep the peace and security of the region by organizing and training police members to destroy the enemy’s evil act and could to demolish the enemy’s plan of making accident.

Especially, terrorists that are anti peace like Al-shabab, Ali-tahad, Al-Qaeda, OLF, and ONLF are making rebellion by taking mission from Shabia and appear making disturbance being under the shelter of religion and causing people not to be tolerance and live together. Moreover, they are causing doubt among nation and nationality of the country in the case of faith, language, culture. They are also making instability in the education and schooling process and were trying to decelerate the development of our country in equipment andwithoutequipment.

Nevertheless, the proud able victory has been recorded by the participation of wide community, police members at different levels, others peace and security bodies, especially by the deeds of anti riot police and anti-Gorilla fighting force in order to make fruitless the plan of enemies and it was possible to made peace and security of the region.

Measures Taken to Control and Following up Different Evil Acts

Big movements were taking place in order to control criminals in our region. Legal measurements were taken on criminals committed crimes like robbing property, injuring, and killing in order to satisfy their wish illegally and controlling criminals who are organized in group and move in equipments and without equipments and are trying commit crimes before their implementation. The action of robbing has been minimized after the evaluation of five years works by the work of community policing after the identification of place of robbers and thieves implement and planed to implement stealing and exploitation. The thieves and robbers were committing this crime were exposed by community participation and presented before law and was made to get penalty.

The crimes that were being implemented on import and export connecting to the economical development and expansion of trading day to day at the big roads of East Oromia were controlled by community participation and our police members and people those who were undertaking the crime has got the legal penalty.

Accomplishments to Solve and Settle Disputes/ conflicts

As it is known our region borders all regions except Tigray region. Regarding this, some conflicts were taking place sometimes with communities live at borders and inside of the region because of economy, politics and community. Successful works have been done by the agreement took place with our borders regions in order to solve the border conflicts with Somali, Beshangul-Gumuz, and Nation and Nationality of South People.

Accomplishments to Control Circulation of Illegal Weapon and Drugs/Dope

Because of wide gap in handling and using of weapons, the problem of this case has been expanding. Thus, 4,669 different illegal guns, 35,956 bullets, 591 bombs, 79 pistols, and one launcher were controlled and have been submitted to the government by controlling and fumbling of illegal weapons beingcirculated in the region. On the other way a big work has been done in minimizing infliction by controlling drugs/dopes. For example, the awareness given and the legal measurement taken in West Arsi Zone, Adama town, and East shoa for people who are producing and drugs/dopes and participated in criminal action are encouraging and because of these the crimes have been being reduced from time to time.
